Just Keep Singing Until The Power of the Lord Comes Down

4/5/2013

II Chronicles 20:1-23, Acts 16:25

It has been said that "to be able to make music and sing is a divine gift from God."  Even though talents come from God, they are not always used for divine inspiration.  Spiritual results do not necessarily come from the most famous singer or the one who has the melodious voice, but from the one who will allow God to use them.  It could be an old grey-haired grandmother whose voice is cracking as she begins to sing " Father I stretch my hands to thee, no other help I know, if thou withdraw Yourself from me, whither shall I go?"  You can sense the realness of her plea and the sincerity of her heart.  You can feel a warm sensation creeping  all over Your personal being.  There is something about singing that moves the heart.

I want to talk about what God can do if we JUST KEEP SINGING.  All that is encountered in life has a tendency to make one feel like they are in a war zone.  In our Scripture lesson from the Old Testament, we find that Jehosaphat experienced a war zone with Ammon, Moab and the Ammonites.  They all came to battle against him.  However, the Lord spoke to him and told him "You will not need to fight in this battle, position yourself, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you." (vs 17)

Jehosaphat appointed singers to sing and praise the beauty of holiness as they went out to confront the armies.  They sang until the enemies became confused and began to kill each other.  If you will just sing until the power of the Lord comes into the Sanctuary, the arena, the auditorium, the room or even you war zones, He will put to confusion the expectations of you enemy.  Jehosaphat can attest to the fact that God wiped out his enemies by the singing of the words "Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever." (vs 21)

I want to tell you, regardless of what you are going through, just keep singing because the battle is not yours but the Lord's.  Confuse the devil and praise your way to victory.  Just hold your head up high and sing praises unto the Lord because He reigns forever.
